CHAP. XIV. IN each capital city, there is a magnificent palace, in which lodge the President, the Councilors & all the rest of the Officers, at the end of a great square plaza square, containing two hundred paces round, of Doric Architecture, with a beautiful portico, in front of which are raised in relief, the arms & figures of the King; the underside are all galleries & arcades, to provide cover to those who have business in the palaces. On the second floor is a large hall square at one end, & oval at the other, where are curved seating, with a Tribunal raised by two steps for the President, all decorated with woodwork & cloth tapestry with the arms of his Majesty.
