       Concerning the mounted arquebusiers, they are not used, for this they use the light horses & are much better, especially since they are better mounted & armed to fight in all manner.

      We will begin with the foot soldiers, the pikemen & musketeers each recieving three escus per month; the arquebusiers, two & a half; the Dizeniers, four; the Captain, thirty; His Lieutenant twenty: The Ensign, fifteen; & each of the Sergeants, eight; The Millenier, or Camp Master, one hundred, in addition to his wages & honest allowances which are paid to them every eight days should they wish, each Millenier having a clerk of the Grand Treasurer in his quater always ready
