Book four. 127 At the end of the room where they sleep is the Master's or preceptor's room, & a study with a good number of books, which remain there perpetually, being given to them on account. The same number are placed on the three other floors, which are all similar. The other two ages are housed in the same way under their Masters, each in its own court. The Officers, Regents, Doctors & masters of exercise are housed outside the courts, each having their rooms, studies & offices, according to their quality & profession. So that when all the lodgings of all three Courts are full, there are nine thousand eight hundred Academics, without the Masters, Regents, Doctors & servants. ======================== In what manner the youth are disciplined by the Masters of the chambers.
