Some equate the "Double A", as found here in the headpiece, to be a Rosicrucian symbol used by such Authors as William Shakesbere and Francis Bacon. There is at least one other book published by Portau that has this "Double A" upon a similar though not matching, headpiece on a book authored by de Mornay.
