ambiguity in the Order, that it be clarified, & put into more intelligible & meaningful words, a copy of which is delivered to them at the same time, & signed by the President & the Councillors, to prevent fraud that the Clerk could commit, if the Order were delivered some time later, as is done in many places.
       As for criminal trials, here is how they proceed. If someone has killed, or injured, or committed other crime, it is ordered that those of the towns or villages where the crime was committed, should abruptly apprehend the wrong-doer, asking for a help if from the Centeniers & Dizeniers of that place: To which they must Suddenly comply, under penalty of a fine of ten crowns each, & even of being corporally punished, if the criminal escapes through their fault. That if he escapes, without it being the fault of the pursuers, the Centurion is obliged to pursue him promptly to the neighboring parish, & also to gives notice to the Centurion there of the same, who rings the bell, assembles the people, & takes as many people as are necessary to continue the pursuit as far as the nearest parish, as the other has done.
